A few days ago we received PLUP Water Beads to review. Last night the kids decided to check them out. We received an 8 oz bag which contains over 16,000 polymer beads, and used about 100 for our small project.
The beads start out very small and when submerged into water they grow. We placed our small beads into two champagne glasses so we could watch the beads grow, and also keep them contained.
While there is no clear instructions on how much water to use, we filled the glasses a little more than half way up. In about a half hour the beads have grown. One teaspoon of beads turns into about a quart of squashy beads We had a little excess water which we just dumped out, so you can't seem to over water them. Once they were done, I dropped some into each of the kids hands, where they found the small hard beads have grown larger and turned super squashy.
The kids wanted to pour them in the sink and run water over them, and now I'm glad we did not do that. I'm thinking we would have had to use the bathtub to grow over 16,000 of these beads and I'm sure getting them out would not have been as fun as growing them. We have many projects planned as the holidays are coming up fast.
I did receive this product at a discount for the review, but these PLUR Water Beads can be purchased on Amazon.com for $8.48 for an 8 oz bag.
